Conscious Uncoupling


     The Conscious Uncoupling coaching program is based on the NYT bestselling book Conscious Uncoupling: 5 Steps to Living Happily Even After by Katherine Woodward Thomas, M.A., MFT. Conscious Uncoupling is designed to help you move through an ending with respect, kindness, and deep caring. It is equally effective for current endings or with past endings that still feel unresolved.
 

     Rather than viewing endings as a personal failing, Conscious Uncoupling helps you use the opportunity to catalyze transformation in your whole life – not only in the area of relationships but in your relationship with yourself and the rest of your life.
 

     This process helps you clear out the past and gives you a foundation from which to move forward, where you are in the place of power in your own life. You will learn the skills of self-reflection and become at choice in any situation, instead of merely at the effect of circumstances. You will finally break free of repeating old patterns and become liberated to do things differently from a centered and empowered place.

     While the book is written about disconnecting from romantic relationships, the program is primarily focused on your internal relationship with yourself and can be adapted to any situation you wish to separate from. When working with me, we customize your program to suit your specific situation.

 


This program is for you if you:
 
  • Desire clarity about a relationship you are currently in - you do not have to be committed to exiting a relationship to do this program.

  • Are currently going through a divorce, separation or break-up.

  • Have completed a divorce, separation or break-up and desire closure.

  • Have experienced a death or loss of a loved one and are seeking resolution.

  • Are exiting a community, job, spiritual or religious group or another circumstance of transition

  • Have experienced any of the above in the past (yes, even decades ago!) and still feel unresolved, stuck, challenged or unable to move on. 
     

How it works:
 

  • Conscious Uncoupling is a 5-Step process which takes place over your choice of 3 months, 4.5 months or 6 months.

  • This is a one-on-one coaching program you will engage with me entirely as an individual.

  • We meet weekly for coaching sessions for the duration of your program.

  • Each session is 60-minutes long. You have the option to customize your package to 75-minute or 90-minute sessions.

  • Between sessions you complete reading, writing prompts and experiential practices.

  • Each week you bring the material you’ve compiled, and we use that as a springboard for active discussion to dig deeper into the content.

  • In session we unpack specifically how each section relates to you and your personal experiences and find openings for you to create shifts in your life.

  • You commit to taking actions based on what you identify through our discussion.

  • Once your coaching program is finished, you may continue coaching with me if you desire. 


You will need to: 
 
  • Purchase Conscious Uncoupling by Katherine Woodward Thomas.

  • Read the specified portion of the book at the beginning of each week.

  • Work with the material throughout your week in preparation for our sessions together.

  • Set aside time each day to complete practices, journaling and self-reflection as directed.

  • Bring your notes and reflections from the week.

  • Meet with me each week for your session.


Your commitment:
 
  • The program is content-rich and asks you to reflect deeply on your own inner workings, complete reading, engage journaling prompts and do practices each week.

  • Consider your personal commitments and schedule (work, children, social etc.) when choosing which package suits the time you have available to dedicate each day to the process.

  • The 3-month package is the fastest pace with the most amount of between-session homework required.

  • The 4.5- & 6-month packages are designed to allow you spaciousness to spread out the material into more manageable pieces. They allow us to pause to work together very specifically with your personal content as it arises.

  • 6 months is the best option for those with busy schedules.
